The Office of Faculty Development (OFD) is pleased to offer the first session in a series of book publishing workshops for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Publishing your first book: where to start? – Dec. 2, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. – Zoom meeting
In this interactive workshop, Matt Becker, editor-in-chief of the University of Massachusetts Press, will discuss issues to consider when professors publish their first book. Topics will include how to revise a thesis into a book manuscript, strategies for approaching an editor, and an overview of what the publishing process entails. Teachers will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the workshop and will have a glimpse of their own path to the first book.
The workshop is organized by the Office of Faculty Development, in collaboration with the University of Massachusetts Press, as part of OFD’s scholarly writing programs.
