Melinda French Gates, already one of the world’s most prominent philanthropists, will now assume the post of editor.

Gates has formed a documentary imprint with Flatiron Books, a division of Macmillan. The footprint, announced Tuesday by Macmillan, is called Moment of Lift Books and will launch with three versions on women and girls, starting in 2023.

“While we have made huge strides towards gender equality over the past decades, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disproportionately affect the lives and livelihoods of women,” said Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and founder of Pivotal Ventures, in a statement.
